There was a niche market in Broughty Ferry for a relaxed contemporary drinking/eating experience for the over 30/40s. Broughty Ferry has many traditional "old man drinking pubs" and 18-30 popular/commercial pubs.
Couture, which is very "woman friendly" and offeres fashion as the back drop, fills this void.
There is a lot of use of pattern and texture within the materials. The floor tiles have the look of tweed, the wall paper has a damask lace quality. We have used a Damask Anaglypta wall covering with a textured paint to create a very tactile surface.
We commissioned a local student illustrator, Clarie Crawford, to create a series of unique images for the interior.
The interior is primarily split into 3 areas; there is the dining area, main bar/cocktail area and a private dining room which can be hired for large groups or parties.
