Nicoll Russell Studios' Exhibition - "Still Grasping the Nettle" 09.06.08

An exhibition celebrating 25 years of our work will be held at the Wellgate Library, Dundee from Tuesday 17th June until Friday 4th July, during the library's normal opening hours.

The exhibition illustrates the breadth of our work which our practice has successfully produced and explores the themes and priorities which make such projects unique, and then looks into the future.


Degree Show Award 09.06.08

Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art’s annual degree show started on Friday 16th May and ran until the 24th May.

Nicoll Russell Studios’ partner Ric Russell presented the practice’s annual award to the best second year student. Ric enthused “ we have sponsored this award for many years and we hope that involvement and our continuing input via teaching and work placements encourages the students and gives them an insight to the challenges of the real world. The College have trawled through the work of the second years and eventually decided that our award should go to Sam Wilson. Congratulations to him and the students of all years for what is a very interesting show.”

The Institute of Sport and Exercise 09.06.08

The NFRC recognised and rewarded Nicoll Russell Studios’ ISE at the University of Dundee as an outstanding example of modern cladding, used to great architectural affect. Nicoll Russell Studios’ partner Ron McHoul represented the practice at the Federation’s annual conference and awards ceremony, held in Cardiff. He noted that the judges considered that the bold candy stripped Institute reflected the “quality of workmanship, resolution of technical challenges, problem solving, environmental qualities and aesthetics, which the federation wishes to promote. Clearly we hope that this award for the ISE will be the first of many.”


Nicoll Russell Studios' Trip to Berlin 20.03.08

The Berlin tour was fantastic we saw some amazing buildings, took thousands of photographs and came home suitably refreshed - roll on the next NRS weekend away!
