If the nightclub is the "Church" of 90's music culture, Home, No. 1 Leicester Square is the Cathedral.
The Client, Glasgow based Big Beat Group, have been described as one of the UK's foremost dance venue operators. Big Beat pioneered the synergy of music, design and audio-visual technology to create unique sensory environments.
Home is located in a renovated 9-storey Art Deco office building in London's West End. The £10 million venture contains 3 dance clubs; a member's bar together with a signature restaurant and a state of the art audio-visual feature called GMI (Global Multimedia Interface).
GMI is an externally located LED audio visual screen which will provide a fully integrated context for the display of digital art. The floor plate of each of the 9 levels is around 350m2. This restriction enabled Big Beat Group and Nicoll Russell Studios to create a series of modest dance areas of differing characters. |
